It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Paul Donald Eddy with family by his side on Thursday August 27th, 2026 at Ed’s House Hospice at the age of 84. Beloved husband of his first wife, the late Betty “Boo” Eddy and his second wife Cash Eddy. Cherished father of Don (Phyllis) Eddy, Scott (Sharon) Eddy and Wendy Smith and stepfather to Randy (Jenny) Richardson, Dan (Tammy) Richardson and Greg (Wendy) Richardson. Loving grandfather of Jessica (Jeremy Savoie), Jeremy (Jessica Wynn) Eddy, Christine Eddy, Ben (Toriann) Eddy, Dana Smith and Erin Smith. Great Grandfather of Anna, Oliver, Grayson and Janessa.
Dear brother of Mary Bertin (David) and brother-in-law to Judy Eddy. Paul is also predeceased by his siblings Jim and Pete.
He will be dearly missed by his cousin Garnett. Also missed by many nieces and nephews.
Paul will be remembered for his service to the community for over 30 years including serving as Deputy Chief of Cobourg Police before retiring in 1996.
A Celebration of Life will take place at MacCoubrey Funeral Home, 30 King Street East, Cobourg on Sunday, September 6th, 2026 from 1:00 pm – 4:00 pm with words of remembrance at 1:30 pm.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to the SickKids Foundation or Ed’s House Hospice would be appreciated by the family.
