
She of Kelowna, British Columbia, passed away peacefully on August 8, 2026, surrounded by her loving family.
Born in Calgary, Alberta, on April 10, 1943, Marilynne lived a life defined by warmth, dedication to her community, and deep devotion to God and her family. Serving faithfully as secretary at the United Church alongside Reverend Albert Baldeo and his wife Beryl. Later she nurtured countless young lives and families as the Director of Kids Corner Day Care.
Her greatest pride and joy were her children and family.
Marilynne Elizabeth Elliott’s legacy of love lives on through her beloved sons and daughters-in-law, Timothy Elliott and his wife Karen, Jonathan Elliott and wife Erin, as well as her cherished grandchildren, Lauryn, Aidan, Erin, and Skye. She was the dear sister of Doug Miller and his wife Gala, and sister-in-law to Mary Miller. She was preceded in death by her loving parents, Lilian and Donald Miller, her brother Don Miller, her sister Barbara Collins and brother-in-law Bill Collins. Also predeceased by her husband Vernon Elliott.
Beloved Aunt and great-aunt to many nieces and nephews, and held a special place in her heart for her niece, Jodi Demery.
Survivor of breast cancer, she became an avid dragon boat racer. She travelled all over the world, racing with her wonderful dragon boat team, Bust’n Loose.
A gentle, caring soul, Marilynne touched the lives of many through her work, her faith, and her unwavering love for those around her. She will be dearly missed and forever remembered by her family, friends, and the Kelowna community.
A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, September 26, 2026, at 10:00 am, located at Springfield Funeral Home, 2020 Springfield Road, Kelowna, BC, with Reverend Beryl Baldeo officiating. There will be a reception to follow.
