It is with broken hearts that the family of Audrey Henrietta Ysebaert (née Deelstra) announces her sudden passing at Bluewater Health on Monday, August 31, 2026, she was called home to be with her Lord and Saviour at the age of 68. Audrey was the cherished, devoted wife of Joe and the loving, supportive mother of Ryan, Brian and Michael (Alana). She was the precious grandmother of Summer-Rose, Jocelyn, Nick, Nathan and Hailey, and eight great grandchildren. Audrey was the treasured sister of Anne, Jean (Harinderpal), Ted (Gigi) and Jim (Tina), sister-in-law of Marcella (Tony), Michelle and Moe (Mae). She will be remembered always by her many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. She will be so very missed by close friends including Vanessa and Greg, Derek and Kim and their family, Patty and Nick, and Adam and Gabby. She was predeceased by her parents Tjibbe Deelstra, Hillie and Gord Ellens, parents-in-law Ely and Madeline, siblings-in-law Ellie (Bill), Germaine (Fred), Johnny (Cathy), Roger (Marion), Mary Ellen, Andy (Michelle) and Raymond (Brenda). Though family was Audrey’s greatest joy and treasure in life, she was an active member of Living Hope Christian Reformed Church and a faithful friend to many. She was known to have taken great pride in bringing family and community together by being the one behind the special planning for gatherings and celebrations. She was known for her friendly and kind personality, bringing joy to everyone who had the pleasure of meeting her and she applied this wonderful attribute throughout her everyday life and by volunteering. Audrey made many special friends throughout her life and will be deeply missed by the residents of Pineview apartments where she and Joe resided. She also loved spending as much time as she could at their trailer at Rock Glen Family Resort where she could typically be found on the porch, or in the company of friends and family. Audrey will be deeply missed by all those who knew and loved her. Special Thank You to Nancy at Pineview for all of her support. Cremation has taken place. Friends and family will be received at Smith Funeral Home, 1576 London Line, Sarnia, on Monday, September 7, 2026, from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and again from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. A Celebration of Audrey’s life will take place at Living Hope Christian Reformed Church, 1281 Exmouth St., Sarnia, on Tuesday, September 8, 2026, at 11:30 a.m. with Pastor Tim Luimes officiating. A private burial of ashes will take place in the Wyoming Cemetery. Sympathy may be expressed through donations to Living Hope Christian Reformed Church or to the Alice Saddy Foundation (cheques only at the funeral home please).
