It is with great sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Mary Seaman at The Southampton Hospital on September 6, 2026, at the age of 79.
Beloved wife of Ron Seaman. Cherished mom of Jill (Shawn) and Derek (Amanda). Devoted and incredibly proud Grandma to Lauren and Caitlin MacDonald, and Bradley and Cole Seaman.
Mary will also be lovingly remembered by her nephews Rob (Lena) Krysa and Brent Krysa; by Ron’s nephews Scott (Paulette) and Mark (Jessica) Brownrigg; and by Ron’s brother-in-law Jim Brownrigg, along with the extended family.
She was predeceased by her parents, Beverley and Margaret Haynes; her sister, Judy; her brother-in-law, Dan Krysa; Ron’s brother Thead Seaman; and sister Joanne Brownrigg.
Born in Cochrane and raised in North Bay, Mary later moved to Toronto, where she met Ron while he was attending Ryerson College and she was training to become a nurse at Toronto East General Hospital. Mary went on to become a registered nurse and devoted more than 30 years of her career to caring for patients at Saugeen Memorial Hospital.
Mary’s love for her family was at the heart of her life. She will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew her.
A service to celebrate Mary’s life will be held at Southampton United Church on Sunday, September 13, 2026, at 1:30 p.m., followed by a gathering at the Walker House.
In lieu of flowers, donations to the Saugeen Shores Hospital Foundation or Southampton United Church would be appreciated.
