Arthur Fydirchuk Obituary
Arthur “Art” Fydirchuk passed away peacefully in his sleep at Northumberland Hills Hospital in Cobourg, Ontario, on September 4, 2026, with his wife by his side. He was 88.
Art is survived by Sylvia, his wife of 61 years; children Laura and Jeff (Amanda); and grandchildren Miranda, Samantha (Dustin), Melissa, and Allison (Deyn). He was predeceased by his parents, William and Nettie Fydirchuk.
He will also be remembered by his sister, Maltila (Nick) Wingie; brothers-in-law Ernie (Irma) Kalinowich, Nestor (Olesia) Kalinowich, and William (Margaret) Kalinowich; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family members.
Art worked at General Motors for 32 years. Following retirement, he devoted considerable time to woodworking, creating furniture in his shop that his children and grandchildren will continue to treasure. He also volunteered in his community and enjoyed a variety of activities and hobbies with Sylvia and their family.
Cremation has taken place. Family and friends are invited to a Celebration of Life at MacCoubrey Funeral Home, 30 King Street East, Cobourg, on Sunday, September 20, 2026, from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.
Memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer Society or the Roseneath Carousel.
