FLEURY-GAUTHIER, Susan – It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Susan Gauthier (nee Fleury), a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend.
Susan was born April 27, 1955, to Thomas J. Fleury and Eleanor Chassie. Susan shared 48 years of marriage with her husband, Denis Gauthier, building a lifetime filled with family, memories, laughter, and love. Above all else, Susan was a devoted mother to her sons, Gordon Bellamy and Jason (Marsha) Bellamy. Proud grandmother to Victoria, Gilpin, Eric, Sam, and Chayse Bellamy. Her family was at the centre of her world, and she spent much of her life loving, caring for, and looking after those closest to her. She was a sister to Stan (Iris) of St. Thomas and Martha (Jamie) of St. Thomas. Predeceased by her parents and her siblings Marilyn (Ross) and Terry (Linda).
To many, she was known affectionately as Susan, Susie, Susie Q, or simply “Momma D.” She loved a good tune, a dance, a gathering with family and friends, and the simple moments that eventually become the stories we tell for years. Susan will be remembered through the laughter, the music, the late-night dancing, the adventures, and the countless memories made with the people she loved.
Even in her final hours, Susan did something beautiful—she brought her family together. There were tears, but there were also smiles, laughter, stories, love, and a reminder of what mattered most: family. Susan leaves behind a lifetime of memories and a family who will carry her with them always.
Rest peacefully, Momma D. You were deeply loved, and you will never be forgotten.
Respecting Susan’s wishes, cremation has taken place. As an expression of sympathy, donations to Community Living Upper Ottawa Valley would be appreciated. Arrangements by the Neville Funeral Home, 491 Isabella St., Pembroke. Online Condolences may be left at www.nevillefuneralhome.ca
