With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of our beloved brother, Terry Leonard Thomas Burden, on February 21, 2025.
He is deeply mourned by his sisters and brothers-in-law: Lynne Beattie (Brian), Joanne Anderson (Gary), and Patti McGhie (Robert). He will also be lovingly remembered by his nieces and nephews: Justin and Brian Beattie, and Matthew, Faith (Lucas), and Krista McGhie. Terry’s loss is also deeply felt by his cousins and childhood friends.
Terry was a true character who faced many challenges in his life. He often said he did not fear death because he would be with Jesus, and nothing else mattered. He was a gentle soul with a unique and often-outrageous sense of humor.
He found peace in nature, spending time in wilderness areas on fishing trips with his father. He also cherished sitting by Lake Ontario in Bronte, feeling soothed by the water and waves.
The family will hold a private Celebration of Life toward the end of April to share memories of Terry.
In honor of Terry, donations to the Canadian Lung Association would be greatly appreciated.
