It is with heavy hearts that the family of Gordon James MacIntyre announces his passing on September 18, 2026. Gord leaves behind his wife, Annie Dermastja; his daughters, Karen Anderson (Gregg) and Wendy MacIntyre (Allan); Stepson Peter Dermastja (Tina), and his cherished grandchildren: Kate Spencer (Peter), Jordan Anderson (Stephanie), Chelsea Myers (Joshua), Josh Anderson (Jenna), Elise, Graeme and Scott Anderson, Rylee Gray, Lillian and Mitchell Snelgrove, Olivia and Mason Dermastja. He was also a proud great-grandfather of three. The family extends a special thank you to Judy and Peter Mateer for their loving and loyal friendship, shared with Gord for over 60 years.
Gord proudly served with the Toronto Police Force for 35 years, beginning his career as a police cadet and retiring as Detective Sergeant, but the highlight of his career was his beloved Major Crime Unit where he may have kicked in a door or two. Gord was the life of the party and a gifted storyteller. He spent many winters in Florida at the Sea Club Resort, where friends fondly dubbed him the “Mayor of Happy Hour,” putting his detective skills to use in getting to know everyone. Above all, Gord was a devoted family man who adored his daughters and their families. He was the kind of father who played hide-and-seek with his children, instigated water fights at the cottage, and always had a pile of kids in tow.

A celebration of Gordon’s life will be held at the Greenbank Centennial Hall, 19965 Highway 12 in Greenbank on Thursday, September 24th from 1 -3 p.m. If desired, in lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to The Salvation Army.
