She passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family, at Hanover Hospital on May 14, 2026, in her 81st year. Sandra Munro was a kind, loving, and selfless wife, mother, sister, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend. Her unwavering support and devotion to her family remained constant throughout her life. Sandra found great joy in gardening and baking and loved sharing the fruits of her labour. Whether it was rhubarb, zucchini, and tomatoes fresh from her garden or her famous strawberry
jam, she was always proud to send family and friends home with their arms full of goodies. She especially treasured baking with her grandchildren at Christmastime, and everyone knew there were always gumdrop cookies waiting in the cookie jar.
Sandra will be deeply missed by her beloved husband of 58 years, Wayne Munro; her children, Rob and Joan (Thomson) Munro of Kitchener, Kimberly and Brian Mountain of Varney, and Keri and Gerald Schenk of Neustadt; her grandchildren, Kendra and Torsten Mueller, Kristin Munro (Jamie Gallant), Jenna Munro, Kaitlin Mountain (Nick Brill), Larissa Mountain (Connor Fedy Williton), Kayla Schenk (Darren Lyons), and Owen Schenk (Sarah Inglis); and her greatgrandchildren,Charlotte, Otto, Everett, and Drew.
She will also be lovingly remembered by her sisters and extended family.
A private graveside service will be held at Hanover Cemetery on June 13, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. Family and friends are invited to join in celebrating Sandra’s life at St. Matthews Evangelical Lutheran Church in Hanover following the service.
As expressions of sympathy, memorial donations to Hanover and District Hospital or St. Matthews Evangelical Lutheran Church (Hanover) would be appreciated. Donations and condolences may be made online at www.cameronfuneralhomes.com
