Joanne Bernadette Smyth (née Mulhern), born on February 18, 1954, in Quebec, Canada, passed away on December 18, 2024, in Bowmanville, Ontario. Joanne was a dedicated critical care Registered Nurse, a profession that showcased her commitment to caring for others and her exceptional skill in a demanding field. Her career was marked by her unwavering kindness and generosity, traits that made her not only an outstanding nurse but also a beloved friend to many.
Joanne took immense pride in her role as a mother to her son, Ryan, who was the light of her life. She cherished every moment spent with him, and her love for Ryan was evident in all she did. Predeceased by her husband, Blair Smyth, parents, Thomas and Irene Mulhern, and brother, Tommy, Joanne’s spirit and warmth continued to touch the lives of those around her.
In addition to her son Ryan (Hailey), she is survived by her dear cat, Brody, her cousin, Michael (MaryAnne), and many close friends. Joanne’s legacy of love, empathy, and wit will remain in the hearts of all who knew her.
