omay drouillard

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Omay Drouillard on November 27, 2024, at the age of 90. Omay passed peacefully, surrounded by his loving family, leaving behind a legacy of love, kindness, and cherished memories.

Beloved husband to Sharon (née Bazlik), with whom he celebrated 61 years of marriage, Omay will also be missed dearly by his fur baby, Patches. He was a loving and devoted father to Karyn Bratt (Jeff), Kathleen Laird (late Terry), and Dale Drouillard (Moira), a cherished grandfather to Aaron Bratt (Melissa), Mike Bratt (Amanda Wilson), Matthew Momney (Erin), Jeremy Momney, Jaclyn Drouillard, and Jillian Drouillard, and an adored great-grandfather to AJ Bratt. Omay shared a special bond with his “Grandpaw” fur baby Zeus, calling him nightly at 10:00 PM.

Omay was predeceased by his parents Wallace Drouillard and Ida (née Bourke) Futko (late Harry), as well as several siblings and extended family members. He is survived by his dear siblings Ann Bridgen (Ernie), Lena Morand (Gerald), Joseph Gordon Drouillard (Jeannie), Donna Ida Lucier (Al), and Nelson Drouillard (Florence), along with many nieces and nephews.

A retiree of General Motors Trim Plant, Omay was a life member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 255 and served for many years on the house committee and Colour Guard. He was a long-time member of the Windsor Sportsman Club and will be fondly remembered for his generous heart, love of camping, crafting birdhouses with his grandchildren, and even his legendary rain dances around the fire.

Visitation will take place at Windsor Chapel Funeral Home (Banwell Chapel), 11677 Tecumseh Rd. E., Windsor, on Sunday, December 1, 2024, from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM and 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM. A Legion Service, under the auspices of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 255, will be held at 7:30 PM. Funeral services will take place on Monday, December 2, 2024, at 11:00 AM in the Chapel with Celebrant Becky Ewen officiating. Interment will follow at Victoria Memorial Gardens Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to The Hospice of Windsor and Essex County would be greatly appreciated. Condolences and cherished memories may be shared at www.windsorchapel.com.

Omay will forever be remembered for his generous spirit, his love for family, and his joy in helping others. May he rest in peace.
