Lynda passed away peacefully on November 13, 2024, at Oak Ridges Hospice, surrounded by her family. Born to Norma and Harry Geer, Lynda was a beloved wife, mother, sister, aunt, and friend to many. She is reunited with her late husband, Bill, and her daughter Patti Kendry-Diotte (the late Roger).
Dear sister of Gord (Chris) and predeceased by Karen and Ken. She is lovingly remembered by her sister-in-law Melissa, brothers-in-law Mel and George (Bill), her dear aunt Audrey Geer, and many nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and nephews. Lynda’s cousins held a special place in her heart, being both family and lifelong friends.
Lynda’s life was rich with diverse experiences. From working as an RNA, a cook and caterer, a Marina operator, a Real Estate Agent, and even writing recipes for the local newspaper, her many talents shone brightly. She was deeply committed to her community, volunteering with the Lions Club, the Royal Canadian Legion, the Cancer Society, Relay for Life, the Snowmobile Association, and the Heart & Stroke Foundation.
Her outgoing personality and love for connecting with others created countless cherished memories with family and friends. She valued her time with Brenda, Chris, Dianne, Judy, her weekly lunch ladies, video call friends, Bingo buddies, and her entire extended network. The gatherings at the Marinas and dinners over the years have left stories and laughter to be remembered and shared.
A Celebration of Life is planned for the New Year, and details will be announced at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations to Lynda’s favorite charity, the Jennifer Ashley Foundation.
