Mario Scuka passed away peacefully at his home in Kelowna, British Columbia, on September 18, 2026, at the age of 95. He was born in Dutovlje, Yugoslavia, on August 27, 1931, later came to Canada, lived in Regina, and moved with his family to Kelowna in 1975.
Mario worked as a mechanic, in construction, and as an orchardist. He is remembered for his hard work, humour, strong values, willingness to help others, love of the outdoors, and devotion to family.
He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Dora; children Adriana and Danny and his spouse; grandchildren Rachel, Kaylin, and Hannah; great-grandchildren Sofia and Caleb; and extended family and friends. He was predeceased by his five siblings.
Visitation will begin at noon on September 29, 2026, at Springfield Funeral Home in Kelowna. The funeral service will follow at 1:00 p.m., with burial at Kelowna Memorial Park Cemetery and a reception afterward. Memorial donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
