Passed away peacefully on Wednesday, September 16, 2026 at home in Hampton, Ontario, in his 85th year. Morley Gerald Balson bravely battled cancer for 2 years. Beloved husband of 62 years to Pat.
Dear Father of Kelly (Amanda) and Jo-Anne (Derek). Best Grandpa “Papa Joe” to Brooke and Sadie. Dear Brother to Ann, Philip, Katy and Kris. Predeceased by his brother Bryce and parents Gerald and Tess Balson of Hampton.
Joe will be fondly remembered by his extended family and friends made through the years at the Bowmanville Legion, hockey, golf, tractor pulling, drag racing and stock car racing. Joe always had a smile on his face, a joke to tell and he was everyone’s friend. He will be dearly missed.
Cremation has taken place and all are welcome to attend a Celebration of Life at the Bowmanville Legion on Saturday, November 28th from 5-9 pm.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Princess Margaret Cancer Foundation.
