It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Peggy Ann, who passed away on Sunday September 20, 2026, at the age of 65.
Peggy Ann Charran is predeceased by her beloved husband, Raymond. She will be deeply missed by her children Brian (Jen), Lisa, and Amanda (Greg), and by her cherished grandchildren, Olivia and Anthony. She is also survived by her siblings Victor (Mary Jane), David (predeceased by Karen), Darlene and predeceased by Noel (Sylvia) Gregory, Cathy and Paul. Peggy will be greatly missed by many nieces, nephews, extended family and many friends.
Peggy worked as an Educational Assistant with the Toronto District School Board, where she dedicated many years to helping and supporting students. Peggy went above and beyond her duties in the classroom, she helped run the breakfast and snack programs, making sure her students had something to eat. During her time there, she made many wonderful friendships that she treasured.
Peggy will be remembered for her caring heart, her generous spirit, and the love she showed to those around her. She especially enjoyed cooking for her family, and her famous turkey and spaghetti will be lovingly remembered and greatly missed. Peggy was a devoted single mother who raised three children, while working and carrying the many responsibilities of family life. She worked hard to provide for her family, while continuing to give so much of herself to others.
A Service to Celebrate Peggy’s Life will be held on Monday October 5, 2026, at THORNTON CEMETERY & FUNERAL CENTRE (1200 Thornton Road North, Oshawa, 905-579-6787), with visitation from 12pm until time of service at 1pm, with burial to follow.
