Hildegard Boehm

August 3, 1936 – October 3, 2026

Hildegard Boehm, 90, Regina, SK, passed away on October 3, 2026, peacefully in her sleep at Regina General Hospital. She was a cherished friend, tante, sister, wife, oma, and uroma who will be greatly missed by the many people who loved her. She is predeceased by parents Richard and Pauline Kiessner, first husband Hasso, and siblings Louise, Willie, Hanna, Helmut, and Roland. She is survived by her husband Clem Boehm, brother Gerhard (Ruth), sons Rick (Del) and Ron (Jennifer), grandchildren Cassie (Mike) and Mandy, great grandchildren Mae and Calvin, and many relatives in Germany.

Throughout every stage of Hildegard’s life, she carried herself with courage, strength, and passion. She had a fiery spirit – if there was something she wanted to achieve or overcome, nothing would get in her way. Born and raised in Bastheim, Germany, Hildegard’s German roots were always a core part of who she was. In 1958, she made the brave decision to move across the world to Regina, SK. Shortly after, she met many lifelong friends and her husband Hasso. Together, they raised their two sons and instilled values that would always stay with them, including the importance of working hard, perseverance, and taking pride in your community. Their home was often loud and filled with friends and family. She had an infectious laugh and an amazing ability to make people feel seen and loved. If you visited Hildegard, you would most definitely be eating well and leave with both a full stomach and a full heart.

Hildegard held herself to a high standard. You would often find Hildegard tending to her vegetables and flowers in her garden or making incredible German food and desserts. Along with being a mother, Hildegard took pride in working hard to help provide for her family which included working at the hospital laundromat, cleaning houses, and scooping ice cream. She kept busy with her life’s passions, which included being a singer in the St. Mary’s Church choir and a singer and director for the German Harmonie Choir.

Later in life, Hildegard married Clem. Together, they entered an exciting chapter – becoming an Oma and Opa. Hildegard’s generosity, kindness, and strength greatly impacted the lives of her grandchildren and who they grew up to be. She was so proud to see her granddaughters pursue opportunities, like university, that she never had the chance to do herself.

Hildegard will be remembered as someone who loved fiercely, lived life to its fullest, and found beauty in everyday life. Hildegard was the kind of friend you wished you had and you aspired to be. Whether you were someone meeting Hildegard for the first time or were someone who had known her for 70 years, she made an impact on everyone she met.

Her family would like to thank the many nurses and doctors who cared for her over the years. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to the Canadian Rheumatology Association Foundation (crafoundation.ca).

Hildegard’s celebration of life will be held at Lee Funeral Home on Saturday, October 10 at 11:00 a.m.
