Rena Doreen Bird died peacefully at Bluewater Health on October 10, 2026, at the age of 69. She was a devoted mother to Winona Wright, William Bird and Sonny-Joe Bird, and she was predeceased by her daughter Tara. Rena was also a cherished grandmother and great-grandmother.
She was a sister to Joanne Rogers, Randy Bird and Robin Bird, and was predeceased by her parents, Reynold and Josephine Bird, and siblings Raymond Bird and Peggy Bird. Her family remembers her warmth, humour and love of family, along with her enjoyment of thrift shopping, collecting wolf keepsakes and spending time with her cat.
Funeral arrangements
Visitation will take place at Maawn Doosh Gumig Community and Youth Centre in Sarnia on October 14, 2026, from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. A funeral service will be held there on October 15 at 1:00 p.m., followed by interment at Aamjiwnaang First Nations Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to the Aamjiwnaang Food Bank.
