Doris Anne Carmichael died peacefully at Bluewater Health on October 9, 2026, at the age of 64. She was the beloved wife of Tyler Puurunen and a loving mother to Katie, Brad, Amy and Isaac. She was predeceased by her daughter Cynthia.
Doris was a cherished grandmother to Leah, Charlotte, Caleb and James, and a dear sister to Louise and Jeff. Her parents, Julian and Tanya Colombo, predeceased her. Family and faith were central to her life, and she enjoyed music and gardening. During more than 25 years at Tim Hortons, she formed many valued connections in her community.
Funeral arrangements
Visitation will be held at Smith Funeral Home, London Line Chapel, in Sarnia on October 16, 2026, from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. A funeral service will follow there on October 17 at 2:00 p.m. Interment is scheduled at Mount Hope Cemetery in Brantford on October 23 at 11:00 a.m. Memorial donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.
