Sounia Ghanim

With sadness, we share the passing of Sounia Ghanim (Windsor, Ontario). Sounia, born on May 3, 1960, passed away on October 29, 2026. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

Family, friends, and acquaintances remember Sounia for her warmth, thoughtfulness, and the moments shared together. While she will be deeply missed, the influence she had on the lives around her remains. Loved ones will reflect on the time spent together. Sounia’s memory will live on in the hearts of friends and family, a lasting reminder of the connections and experiences she brought to the world.

She was loved and cherished by many people including: her spouse Chakib Al-Nejem; her daughter Christine Al-Nejem; her siblings, Leyla (late Elias), Souheila (Toni) and Riad (Inas); and her parents, Elias Ghanim and Georgettes Shallah. She was also cherished by her nieces, nephews, extended family and many friends.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, November 4th 2026 from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM at the Central Chapel (1700 Tecumseh Rd E, Windsor, ON N8W1C7). A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, November 4th 2026 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the same location. A burial will be held on Wednesday, November 4th 2026 from 11:30 AM to 12:00 PM at the Windsor Memorial Gardens (1100 Division Rd, Windsor, ON N8W1Z6).

Interment to follow at Windsor Memorial Gardens Cemetery (1100 Division Rd.) In memory of Sounia, donations may be made to Immaculate Heart Church or The Kidney Foundation of Canada or The Windsor Cancer Center Foundation.
