SMITH, Beatrice May - Beatrice passed away peacefully in her sleep on September 4, 2017 at the age of 94.
She was born in Yorkshire, England, daughter of Harry and Eva Holden.
In her early years, she served in the Women's Auxiliary Air Force (WAAF) in the RAF as a Lead Safety Equipment Officer where she packed parachutes during WWII.
She came to Canada by sea on the RMS Carinthia in June 1957 with her two young daughters.
She loved to travel and was a keen observer of politics and current events.
Loving wife of the late Stuart Smith, Beatrice is survived by her sister Ilma, her daughters Pamela and Beverley, her granddaughter Hillary, grandsons Michael and Joshua, and great granddaughter Nia.
Private family service/burial to be held at Meadowvale Cemetery 7732 Mavis Road Brampton, ON L6Y 5L5 , Saturday September 30, 2017 at 11:30 a.m.
In lieu of flowers donations maybe made to the Canadian Diabetes Association.
