WARD, Dr. Richard Steele Ward - Passed unexpectedly surrounded by his family at Lakeridge Health Hospital on Thursday, October 4, 2018, in Oshawa, Ontario at the age of 72.
Devoted husband to wife Susan for 43 years.
Adoring father of Ryan and Rachel (Aaron). Loving Papa to Ethan and Maeve.
Rick was born on March 21, 1946 in Peterborough, Ontario to Robert and Amaryllis Ward.
He achieved his dream job of becoming a dentist, graduating from the University of Toronto in 1970. Upon graduation, he practised in Uganda before returning to Toronto. Shortly after, he met and married Susan, and they settled in Pickering where they welcomed their son Ryan and daughter Rachel into the world.
His children remember him for always being there for them and one who would put his family first. He was their biggest cheerleader, either as their coach, the loudest fan on the sidelines or front row in the audience, never missing one of their games, concerts, or bedtime stories.
The family will receive friends at the McEachnie Funeral Home, on Thursday, October 11, 2018 from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. The Funeral Service will be held in the Chapel at 3:00 p.m.
