BURGESS, Marion   - Peacefully on November 27, 2018.

Survived by her husband Bill of 65 years, her daughters, Kathy (Stan) Read, Lynda (Paul) Crago, Debbie (John) Snowden and Janice Burgess; her grandchildren Meghan, Mackenzie, Jennifer, Jessica, Michelle and Trevor; 7 great-grandchildren and brother-in-law Wayne Burgess.

She was predeceased by her parents, Thomas Luther and Florence Harvey of Roseneath, Ontario and her parents-in-law Arthur and Vera Burgess.

First and foremost a wife, mom, and beloved grammy, by her example, she taught us what unconditional love is all about. She was born a nurse.

From early childhood, she was determined to become a nurse and despite many obstacles, she made it happen. She graduated as a registered nurse from Oshawa General Hospital in 1953 and dedicated her professional career to nursing the community of Bowmanville, finishing as head nurse in emergency at Bowmanville Memorial Hospital.

As a wife, mom, friend and nurse, she has touched the lives of many.

A Memorial Gathering will be held at Northcutt Elliott Funeral Home, Bowmanville, on Saturday December 1st from 2 - 4 pm.

Memorial donations made to Bowmanville Hospital Foundation would be appreciated.
