It is with deep sorrow that we share the sudden loss of our cherished father, John Kirana, who passed away on May 23, 2025, at Lakeridge Health Ajax Pickering Hospital. He was born on April 2, 1947, in Semarang, Indonesia.
John was a steadfast and loving husband to Susy Kirana for 49 years, together building a life full of unforgettable moments and a wonderful family. He was a devoted father to Anna and Paul and a doting grandfather to his grandchildren: Monica, Clare, Cecilia, Evelyn, Jonathan and Olivia.
While in Indonesia, John dreamed of traveling overseas, motivating him to study both geography and German. He also worked with an airline company. In 1989, he and his family moved to Canada to start a new chapter.
John was an avid lover of nature, spending much of his free time hiking, fishing, and gardening. He also found immense joy in spending time with his grandchildren.
John was a compassionate and giving soul who made a lasting impact on those around him with his kindness and constant support. His absence will be deeply felt by all his family and friends.
