BENDER, Yvonne Estella  - Yvonne was born and raised in Stratford, ON where she attended Loretto Academy moving to Newcastle in 1969 and then to Peterborough in 2017.

She joined her Lord and Savior peacefully on Tuesday, January 7, 2020 at Sherbrooke Heights in Peterborough in her 82nd year.

Beloved wife of 61 years to Lyle Bender.

Loving mother of Darolyn (the late Philip) Jones of Bethany, Delores Bender of London, and David Anthony (Tony) Bender of Deep River.

Loved grandmother of Jeremy (Justina) Jones, Melody (Ryan) Welburn, Crystal (Joe) Ayotte, Joshua (Charlene) Hone, Matthew Hone, Christopher (Laura) Hone and Bryce Bender. Lovingly remembered by her great-grandchildren Cowen, Zoey, Hannah, Noah, Paisley, Emily, Avery, Levi, Lorelai, Teagan and Deaglan.

Cherished aunt of nieces and their families.

Predeceased by her brother William (Bill) Longeway and sister-in-law Margaret Landers. Yvonne was a long time active member of Newcastle Fellowship Church.

A visitation will be held at the Newcastle Funeral Home, on Sunday, January 12, 2020 from 2 – 4 p.m. Funeral service at the funeral home on Monday, January 13, 2020 at 11 a.m. The funeral service will be officiated by her brother-in-law Rev. Gary Landers of Seaforth, ON.  Luncheon will follow the interment, at the funeral home.

Donations to the Gideon Bible Society, Newcastle Fellowship Baptist Church or the Humane Society of Durham Region would be gratefully appreciated.
