Passed away peacefully on Wednesday, January 13, 2021 at Copernicus Lodge, in her 90th year.
Predeceased by her beloved husband Jozef.
Dear aunt of Piotr (Barbara) Kita, Andrzej (Danuta) Kita, Sr. Anna Kita, Helena (Zbigniew) Mitoraj, the late Marek (Zofia) Kita and Irene (Robert) Henderson and many other extended family members.
Helena will be sadly missed by her great niece Monika (Richard) Romanczyk and their daughters Veronika and Izabelle, her great nephews Pawel and Adam Kita, and by her friends Danuta Kalabis, Marysia Kudyba, Stenia Oleszkiewicz, Emilia Mysliwiec and Teresa Fajfer.
Helena emigrated to New Zealand in 1959, where she met and married Jozef. In 1969, they moved to Canada to be closer to Jozef’s brother Walter and his family.
Helena visited her family in Poland many times and often hosted them here as visitors in Canada. She helped Piotr and Monika establish their lives in Canada.
She enjoyed cooking, gardening and spending time with her friends and family.
She valued her Polish heritage and continued to support her family and friends in Poland for as long as she could.
Visitation will be held on Monday, January 18th from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. at the ARMSTRONG FUNERAL HOME (124 King St. E., Oshawa).

A Private Funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday, January 19th at St. Hedwig’s Catholic Church.
Interment to follow at Thornton Cemetery.
