McKinnon WalterMCKINNON, Walter Gray - (November 21st, 1957 - March 3rd, 2021)

Walter Gray McKinnon, 63, stepped from time into eternity on March 3, 2021.

Our hearts are heavy with the loss of our north star, the heartbeat of our family.

A devastating loss for his adored and adoring wife, Donna.

Their love shone ever so brightly for 43 years, and cannot be dimmed by death.

Walter will be deeply grieved and forever missed by his children, Carolyn, Mary Ann and Kyle.

Due to his playful nature he was greatly loved by his six grandchildren, Jamie, Jesse, Austin (deceased), Owen, Jake and Axelle.

Walter will also be missed by his new great-granddaughter Ashlynn. He was the only child of, and  predeceased by, Bill and Teresa.

Walter fought a vicious three year battle against cancer with courage, grace and grit.

He will be lovingly remembered for his friendliness, humour, fun-loving ways, compassion, kindness, strength, artistic ability, faith, and his deep love of family. We will forever honour his beautiful, joyful spirit.

Walter was employed by General Motors for 26 years, and was thrilled to take early retirement.

He enjoyed traveling the world with his beloved wife, being a handyman, and working part-time at Cineplex where he was known and loved by colleagues and guests alike.

Walter loved to talk and was never short of a joke or a story, but he also had a listening ear and a willingness to help others. He endeared himself to all who knew him.

In addition to his extended family in Canada, the USA and Britain, Walter will be missed by friends and neighbours who rallied round him throughout his illness.

It was Walter's wish to be cremated. A celebration of life will follow at a later date.

Donations in memory of Walter may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.

Arrangements entrusted to  W.C. TOWN FUNERAL CHAPEL , Whitby.
