EMMETT, William  -  It is with sadness that we announce the passing of William (Bill) Emmett on July 6, 2021 at the age of 98.

Bill was born in Glasgow, Scotland on June 16, 1923, to father, Thomas Henry Emmett and mother, Jeanie Clark.

He served in the Royal Navy from 1942-1946 on the HMS Penn, a P-Class Destroyer active during WWII.

Bill is preceded in death by his siblings, Margaret (Davie), Nell (Casey), Henry and Thomas; his dear wife, Mary (Murphy) and his beloved children, Margaret (Doherty) and Paul.

He is survived by his children John and Thomas; grandchildren Keara, Scott, Paul (Doherty) and Cailin (Doherty); and great-grandchildren Allora (Reid), Bronwynn (Reid), Kaysen and Keaton.

Bill will be missed and remembered in fond memories by all.

The family would like to thank the staff and residents at Chartwell Colonial Retirement Residence in Whitby for providing a comfortable home for Bill over the last few years.

A visitation for Bill is planned for Tuesday, July 13, from 11am – 12pm., at Mount Lawn Funeral Home, Whitby, ON. The funeral service will follow immediately in Thornhill, ON.
