NESBITT, Muriel Nesbitt  -  Wife of the late Robert L. Nesbitt, passed away peacefully on Monday, August 9, 2021 at Uxbridge Cottage Hospital.

Born on May 4, 1921, in Quaker Hill (Uxbridge), Ontario, she was the daughter of the late John A. Kydd and Olive Kydd, and loving sister of the late Eileen Brice, Gordon Kydd, Carl Kydd, and John Kydd. She leaves behind her sisters Joyce Leek and Mary Kydd.

Muriel will be remembered as a bright, shining light to her family and friends and a pillar of the local community and church. Muriel's talents were many: She was an extremely accomplished seamstress, gardener, painter, vocalist, and beloved entertainer of family and friends. Her legacy lives on in the local community through her founding of the Uxbridge-Scott Historical Society and Uxbridge Cottage Hospital.

She is survived by her son, Robert J. Nesbitt, her daughter Elisabeth Nesbitt-Ellis (James) and her daughter-in-law Donna Nesbitt; Four granddaughters (Nancy, Carrie, Tracey, Erin), two grandsons (Todd, Collin), two great granddaughters (Amy, Stella), two great grandsons (Cole, Russell), and one great-great granddaughter (Shaelynn). She is preceded in death by her husband Robert of 67 years, her son Paul Nesbitt, and her daughter-in-law Bonnie Nesbitt.

The family will receive friends at Low & Low Funeral Home, Uxbridge, on Wednesday, August 25, 2021 from 2pm - 3pm.  A private family funeral will follow the visitation.

In lieu of flowers, friends may make a memorial contribution in Muriel’s memory to CNIB Guide Dogs, supporting a future guide dog that will help give freedom and independence to a person living with sight loss
