AKERMAN, Mary Ann (Molly) Akerman   - Passed away quietly on July 8th after a sudden and unexpected illness at the age of 97.

Predeceased by her husband “Ack” she is survived by her daughters Jane and Elizabeth and son in law Gerry.

Molly’s kind and generous loving nature will be missed by all, especially Jane, Liz, and Gerry.

Molly’s life journey took her from Ballymoney, Northern Ireland at 17 years old to London where she worked at the American Embassy during WWII, she often spoke about living in London during “The Blitz”.

Immediately after the war she accepted a position with the British Foreign Office and was transferred to Berlin, Germany.

There she met and married British Army Officer “Ack”. From there she and Ack came to Toronto and ultimately settled in the hamlet of Coppins’ Corners.  There, she worked side by side with Ack on their poultry farm and raised her two daughters.

Molly enjoyed a long and healthy life, and this longevity is due in no small part to the wonderful care provided in her later years by her daughter Liz. Pat Williams was also a doting substitute carer when Liz was incapacitated.

Liz and I are profoundly grateful to all our other friends and family who have supported us and Mum throughout the years.

Molly loved and was loved by her “grand” dogs Sophie, Poppy, and Rosie.

Should you wish to make a donation to your favourite animal rescue or rehab centre in Molly’s memory we know she would be delighted.
