COPPING, Shirley May (Mercer) - Of Orono, born July 6th, 1935, passed away peacefully September 9th, 2021.

Daughter of Stan and Thelma Mercer.

Wonderful mom to Richard, (Debbie) Linda, (Donnie)Kelly, (Terry) and Brian.

Loving grandmother to 8 grandchildren and 15 greatgrandchildren.

Ever grateful to sister-in-law Judy and cousins Brenda and Pat.

Over the last 25 years mom has resided at the Durham County Senior Citizens Lodge where she met numerous friends. To those people, we say thankyou. You made a difference in our mom's life.

Mom has had the same housekeeper for as long. Sue, thank you for the love and support you have shown mom over the years. You treated her like your own family.

We would like to thank Community Care Durham for their support and services over the years. She has had Meals on wheels, telephone reassurance and a friendly visitor. Thank you Cheryl for your love and friendship. Without the help of several PSW's, Mom would not have been able to stay at home as long as she did. Thank you Willie and Nancy.

It was because of the staff at the Kidney care clinic, both Oshawa and Whitby, that Mom did so well with her illness.

We would also like to thank the staff on 1st floor surgery at Lakeridge Bowmanville Hospital. It was there that her dementia started to worsen and these ladies and gentlemen were amazing with our mom. Our thanks to the whole team.

Of course, Lakeridge Ajax Pickering can not be left out. The staff on 2 west showed their care and compassion to our mom and for that we say thank you.

Aquamation has taken place. There will be no service at the present time.

Donations to Community Care Durham or Durham County Senior Citizens Lodge in lieu of flowers.

Rest in peace Mom!
