BOYD, Joyce Marie - Passed away peacefully at Fairview Lodge, Whitby on October 8th, 2021 at the age of 80.
Born April 20th, 1941 in Toronto.
Beloved wife of Bill Boyd. Loving mother of Heather Boyd and Glennis (Steve) Scott.
Loved Grandma of Claire and Marie.
She will be sadly missed by her brothers Arthur Kendrick Smith and David (Marlene) Smith, sisters-in-law Elizabeth (David) Dunn and Doreen Boyd, and many nieces and nephews.
Joyce was the daughter of the late Lorraine and Arthur Smith.
Joyce was a devoted teacher, serving 33 years in Toronto, Trenton, Werl (Germany), Ottawa and Durham Region, retiring from R.A. Sennett P.S. in 2003.
She spent many years volunteering in the community including as a Girl Guide and Brownie leader.
Joyce will be remembered for her love of music and gardening, compassionate nature and bright laugh.

A Memorial Service will be held at W.C. TOWN FUNERAL CHAPEL , on Saturday, October 23, 2021 at 12pm with visitation from 10am-12pm.
A donation in Joyce’s memory in lieu of flowers to Fairview Lodge Whitby or the Alzheimer’s Society of Durham would be greatly appreciated by the family.
