VERGYRIS, Barbara Carol Jean   -  1949-2021  It is with heavy hearts and deep sadness that the family of Barbara Carol Jean Vergyris (Smith, Miller) announces her passing on December 12th, 2021 at the age of 72 at Lakeridge Health, Oshawa.

Barbara passed away surrounded in a circle of love with her daughter Michele and her grandchildren.

Barbara will be forever missed by her dearly loved partner Brad (John) Benford. She was the beloved wife of the late Nick Vergyris and the late Dennis Miller.

Adored mother of Tony Miller, Michele and her husband Robert Clauser, Terry Miller, Maria and her husband Tim Carey.

Gramma will be lovingly remembered by her grandchildren Christian Clauser, Victoria Bugera, Skye Jackson, Joshua Clauser, Matthew Clauser, Savannah Clauser, and her special little girl Autumn.

Cherished sister of Grace (Maurice) McInnis, Russell (Junior) Smith, Sheron Minard, Ivan (Kathy) Smith, Cecil (Margie) Smith, Janett (Chris) Knowles, Andy (Bonnie) Smith, and Luke Smith.

Much loved Aunt and Great-Aunt to many nieces and nephews. Preceding her in death was her father Russell Smith, her mother Christina Mae Smith (McEachern), her brother Roger Smith, her brother-in-law Dan Minard, and her sister-in-law Debbie Smith.

She too was an inspiring beautiful Mother and Gramma in their eyes and that’s all that ever truly mattered to her. Barbara will now forever be our guardian angel as we continue our journey without her.

The family would like to say a special thank you to her sister Sheron for all the love and dedication she provided Barbara throughout her illness, her sister Janett for providing us with much needed support and guidance, and to Emil Vrecic for lending a helping hand whenever it was needed.

There will be no visitation or service at Barbara’s request. A celebration of life and interment of her ashes at her late husband’s gravesite will take place in spring 2022. The family will forward family and friends the date/time/place once known.
