BEST, Thomas Best   -  June 16, 1939 - December 16, 2021

It is with deep sadness that the family of Thomas Best announce his peaceful passing on December 16th, 2021, at the age of 82.

Thomas was born on June 16th, 1939, to Alonzo Best and Elaine Best formerly Miller in Ste. Madeleine District, Trinidad and Tobago.

He was the loving husband of Ynolde Patricia (nee Abner) for 57 years.

The proud and dedicated father of Kelly Buist (Joshua) and Lesley Dottin (Patrick).

He enjoyed spending time with his grand-daughters, Kendra, Laila and Erin.

He will be fondly remembered by his friends and family in Canada and his nieces and nephews in England and Trinidad.   After teaching in Trinidad, Thomas immigrated to England in 1960 to start a new life.  He worked various jobs and was able to purchase his first home in London in 1961.

While attending church in London he was reunited with a classmate from Trinidad who would later become his wife.

Shortly after Patsy (Ynolde) arrived, they began courting and were married the summer of 1964. In 1966 Thomas and Patsy decided to migrate to Canada.

He cherished the memories of his colleagues and students, remaining in contact, and leaving a lasting legacy thanks to his diligence, empathy, perseverance, and his eternal optimism and glowing smile.

The family would like to express their heartfelt appreciation to all the doctors, nurses and support workers for their dedicated and endless support and care during Thomas’s illness.

The Visitation and Funeral Service  are private by invitation only through the family.
