GUENTHER, Alfred "Al"   -  We are sad to announce that on Monday, March 28th, Alfred “Al” Guenther (Whitby, Ontario) passed away at Toronto General Hospital surrounded by his loving family.

Al was born to parents Horst Guenther (predeceased) & Erika Guenther on August 23, 1957 in the city of Toronto.

He was the oldest of 7 children: Winfred (predeceased), Thomas, Herbert, Angelika, Marianne and Margarete.

He married Christine ( Nee Antle), the love of his life, in 1979, who survives him. He was a devoted father to April (Dave Carroll), Sandy (Dave Clarke) and Amanda (Derek Jamieson) and an adored Papa to David, Hannah, Jaxon, Madden, Karsen and Cameron.

Al and Christine’s love story began when they met while they both worked at “Woolco”.

Soon after they married, he began his career in the automotive industry where he successfully managed parts departments for various Chrysler dealerships in the GTA. Often winning awards, bonuses and trips for his achievements.

A Celebration of life will take place on Saturday, April 9th, 2022 at Mount Lawn Funeral Home, Whitby, ON, from 2:30 PM to 5:30PM. The family will be expressing their love, stories and appreciation about Al at 3:30 PM.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Princess Margaret Cancer Foundation or to the Humane society of Durham Region.
