BALMBRA, William (Bill) Dames Balmbra   -  William died peacefully on Tuesday, April 27th 2022 after a short battle with cancer.

Bill was born on Sunday, October 23 1932 in Newcastle upon Tyne, UK. He took great pride in serving in the Royal Navy to which he shared countless stories and memories to those around him.

Bill was a man of prayer and devoted to his faith. He was educated at the University of Newcastle Upon Tyne.

He relocated to Canada to be closer to his only brother. Upon arriving to Canada he took the position as principal at Foley Catholic School in Brechin, Ontario which was the beginning of his career in education.

Bill met his wife, Rosemary, at TCDSB and married in 1988.

He was a proud father of three; Neil, Madeleine (Karl) & Ian, and a happy Grandad to Wilfrid and Roland Prentice.

He was very much a family man, always providing rich experiences, in particular, gatherings after Sunday mass where he made his famous pancakes.

Now that Bill has passed into the arms of our Lord, we should be reminded that while this is the end of his physical life on Earth, it’s the beginning of an eternal and beautiful journey for him.

Funeral Mass at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church on May 2, 2022,at 11:00 AM - 12:00 PM.
