THORPE, Maurice James Thorpe - SEPTEMBER 1, 1928 – SEPTEMBER 11, 2022
With great sadness we announce the passing of Maurice James Thorpe on September 11th, 2022.
He passed away peacefully at home in his sleep with family beside him.
Maurice was 94.
Predeceased by his loving wife, Barbara Ulrica Thorpe (1999) and his eldest son Richard James Thorpe (2018).
Maurice is survived by his partner Helen Goodwin-Taylor, daughters Evelyn Bailey, Sandra Lancaster and son James Thorpe.
Predeceased by sisters Barbara Bragg, Peta Brennan Thorpe and Phyllis Thorpe.
urvived by his brother James (Jim) Thorpe, son in laws Stewart Bailey and Jeffrey Lancaster and grandsons Michael and Ryan Lancaster.
Maurice was born in India on September 1, 1928.
He married Barbara and moved to Pakistan where their four children were born.
Maurice and Barbara moved their young family across the ocean to Canada arriving with little money and no job, but determined to build a wonderful future for his family.
Maurice loved the outdoors, fishing, hunting and hiking.
His love of fishing never ended. He loved his family very much.
