Le GRESLEY, Farncomb (Farny) - It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Farncomb Le Gresley, son of Helen Jane (Farncomb) Le Gresley and Reginald Balfour Le Gresley of Ebor House, Newcastle.
Farncomb passed away peacefully at Lakeridge Health Bowmanville on September 20th, at the age of 96, leaving behind his beloved wife, Nancy, his four daughters—Trish Kimmerly (Scott), Sarah White (Brian), Joanne Baarbé (Johannes), and Katherine/Kathy Le Gresley— as well as 22 grandchildren, and 10 great grandchildren.
He will be greatly missed by all of his family, including his only brother, Balfour Le Gresley of Toronto, and his many nieces and nephews on both sides of the family.
Farny was a beloved teacher and avid scientist.
He loved boating, computers, ham radios, gardening, and camping, but none more than visiting with his friends and family. He will always be remembered for his amazing smile, his distinctive laugh, and his many, many stories.
A man of great knowledge and wisdom, Farny will never be forgotten. He had a lasting impact upon all who knew him.
Organizations he was pleased to be a part of include St. Martin’s Anglican Church in Courtice; Durham Masonic Lodge Number 66; Palestine Royal Arch Chapter Number 249, Pentelpha Chapter; Northshore Amateur Radio Club; Durham PC Users Club; Newcastle Village and District Historical Society; the Wally Byam Caravan Club International; and the Power and Sail Squadron in Oshawa.
Arrangements with Morris Funeral Chapel, Bowmanville.
