SOBIL, Shirley Doreen - (the Last Co-Founder of Pebblestone Golf Course, Courtice; life member of the former Zion United Church and member of Kedron United Church).
With great sadness, the family announces the peaceful passing of Shirley, in her 91st year, on Wednesday, November 9th, 2022 at Extendicare, Peterborough.
Shirley is predeceased by her parents William and Flossie Dodwell.
Shirley was the beloved wife and friend of (the late) Paul Sobil.
She will be greatly missed by her sons Paul (Kate) of Courtice and Dennis (Joan) of Tiny ON; by her grandchildren Jennifer Sobil, Jeff Sobil, Mitch Sobil (Katie), Jackalynn Sobil (Andrew McGill), Devin Menchions, Ryan Menchions (Taylor) and Tanner Acker (Shae).
Dear great-grandmother of Lucian Mirowski, Landyn Mirowski, Jack Sobil, Josie Sobil, Teagan McGill, Maverick McGill and Maisie Acker.
Sister of Bill Dodwell (late Kathleen) of Bobcaygeon, late Barbara Page (late George), and late Patricia Johnson (late Ed). Sister-in-law of the late Tom (late Eileen), late Frank (late Goldie), late Peter (late Ann), late May (late Joe) and the late Stephen (late Phyllis).
Relatives and friends may express their condolences at McINTOSH-ANDERSON-KELLAM FUNERAL HOME LTD., 152 King St. E., Oshawa (905-433-5558) on Tuesday from 3 - 6 p.m. and on Wednesday, November 16th, 2022 from 12 noon until the memorial service in the funeral home chapel at 1:00 p.m.
Private interment to take place at Zion Cemetery.
