(age 64) Peacefully at home, after a valiant fight with ALS, with his wife Pat and brother Bob by his side.
Beloved husband and best friend to Pat (Preston).
Son of the late Herbert and Charlyne Piper.
Cherished youngest brother to Penny Hargreaves (Derek), Michael (Carol), Bob (Catherine), Pat (Wendy), Jackie Bryan (Dave) and big brother to Cathy Redpath (Ian).
Loving father to Christopher (Jaimie) and gramps to granddaughter Elise. Loved step-dad to Michael Preston, Sara Bell (Tyler) and grandpa to Caiden with another granddaughter on the way.
Loving uncle and great-uncle to numerous nieces & nephews. Loved by his extended family on Pats side.
A special friend to so many.
Rick fought against this devastating disease for the last 7+ years, losing his ability to speak, eat and drink, and finally to breathe, but it could never take his spirit and sense of humor.
Throughout all these challenges, his loving wife Pat, truly his angel, walked alongside him every step of the way. His family and friends so ever grateful for her never-ending love for him.
Family and friends are invited to Low and Low Funeral Home, 1763 Reach Street, Port Perry on Sunday, November 27, 2022 for visitation from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. and from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.
A Funeral Service will be held on Monday, November 28, 2022 at 12p.m. with visitation for one hour prior at 11a.m. Following the service a reception will be held.
