BARRIE, Doreen Lillian (Nee Mitchell) Barrie   -  December 5, 1925 – January 7, 2023

 

Died at home, as she wished, surrounded by family.  

 

Predeceased by her husband of 61 years Gordon (deceased 2008). 

Beloved mother of Tom & Sally, Steve & Tina, Ken & Patti, Heather & Steve Rowe, Keith & Lisa and Glenn & Marny. 

 

Beloved Nana to 12 grandchildren and Great-Nana to 12 great-grandchildren & one on the way.  Sister of the late Helen & Charlie Burdett and will be missed by her nephew David Burdett and nieces Barb Wilkins and Joan Bruce. 

 

Her parents were Charles & Lillian Mitchell (Davies) of London, England.

 

Doreen was a member of Trinity United Church UCW and Providence – Shaw’s Women’s Institute.  She was a volunteer with Community Care Durham for 35 years.

 

Visitation will be held at TRINITY UNITED CHURCH, 116 Church Street, Bowmanville on Friday January 13th, 2023 from 10 – 11 am.  A Memorial Service will be held in the church at 11 am. 

 

In lieu of flowers, Memorial Donations may be made to Community Care Durham or Clarington Animal Shelter.
