ATKINSON, Peter William Atkinson - Passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his family on January 20, 2023 at the age of 68.
He was the beloved husband of Yvonne for 20 years and a loving father to Mandy Inkster (Regan), Shawn Maschke (Angela), Kathryn Atkinson (Braden), and Rudy Weinberger (Steffany).
He was a cherished Grandad to seven grandchildren: Elliott, Sloan, Emily, Benjamin, Hawkins, Oakley, and Kayla.
Peter is predeceased by his parents, Alan and Geraldine Atkinson, and his sister, Susan Atkinson.
Pete’s career with General Motors spanned 35 years, and he was a proud graduate of General Motors Institute (GMI), class of ‘78.
He was a skilled sailor, achieving a Master Captain’s license in the British Virgin Islands in 2018. Petey-Pie, as he was affectionately referred to by his loved ones, enjoyed reading, skiing, playing tennis, and adopting new technologies over his lifetime.
He was also known to be a purveyor of dry humour and a history buff. He will be deeply missed.
