May 27, 1947 - June 8, 2023
After a valiant battle with illness, John passed away peacefully at Oak Ridges Hospice on June 8, 2023 at the age of 76.
Beloved husband of Terry for 50 years.
Loving father of Toby (Jodi), Tom (Taylor), Tim (Stephanie) and Jessica.
Proud grandfather of Jayden, Cian, Liam, Aidan, Easton, Brynlee and Elijah. Dear brother of Anna (Brian), Tom (Nora), the late Ronald and the late Michael.
He will be fondly remembered by his sisters in law Ann and Viv as well as his nieces and nephews and their families.
The Fennessey Family wishes to extend their sincere gratitude to the Palliative Care Unit at Lakeridge Health Oshawa and the staff and volunteers of the Oak Ridges Hospice for all of their compassion and the excellent care that John received.
Visitation will be held at W.C. TOWN FUNERAL CHAPEL, 110 Dundas Street East, Whitby on Tuesday, June 13, 2023 from 6 – 8pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. John the Evangelist, 903 Giffard Street, Whitby on Wednesday, June 14, 2023 at 10:30am. Interment at Resurrection Catholic Cemetery, 355 Taunton Road East, Whitby.
John’s family requests that those in attendance of the funeral services not wear black.
