BURNET, Donald Scott  -  We are deeply saddened to announce the passing of Donald Scott Burnet, on June 8, 2023, in his 90th year, at Lakeridge Health in Oshawa.

Don is now reunited in heaven with his wife of 41 years, Margaret; sister, Barbara; brother, Ken; and parents, Charles Eric and Marguerite Burnet.

He will be deeply missed by his children, Mike (Joelle), Diane (Pierre), Dawn (Andrew), and Chris (Lynne); grandchildren, Alexandra (Nicolas), Michelle, Vicky (Adrien), Katrina, Nicole (Brandon), Kelsey (Evan), Greg (Julie) and Adam (Nina); and great-grandson, Clément.

Born in Montreal October 1932, Don earned his Chartered Accountant designation in 1957 and worked at the Royal Trust for many years before retiring in 1994.

Don and Margaret were active volunteers at the West Rouge Sports and Recreation Association, and in 1994 were a driving force behind the first West Rouge Family Day, which is still being held annually to this day.

Don will be fondly remembered by his family and friends for his kindness, mischievous sense of humour, rousing renditions of "the White Cliffs of Dover", lush gardens, and as a fiercely competitive tennis player ("Tennis anyone?").

The family would like to thank the staffs at Chartwell/Livita Centennial in Oshawa, and Amica in Whitby, for the care they provided Don in recent years.

A private Celebration of Life will be held later this year in Quebec.
