MARTIN, Peter Louis - It is with deep sadness that we share the news of our father, Peter Louis Martin’s passing on Friday, January 26, 2024, at 5:01 AM.
Peter was born on October 1, 1942 to his parents Eleanor Jane Martin (née Stainton) and Louis Edward Martin.
Throughout his life, he was known for his warmth, care, and wisdom.
Peter's life was full of love, especially after marrying Ingrid Mary Kidd Jorgensen in the fall of 1965.
Together, they raised three children: James Ian, and twins, David Michael (Jennifer Anne) and Lisa Jeanette. A doting grandfather to Callum Reilly, Jack Ryan, Kate Mairi, and Luke Elliott, Peter took great pride in his family.
Professionally, Peter was at the forefront of the tech age at the Toronto Harbour Commission from 1967 to the late 1990s, contributing to modernizing imports and exports for what would become the Toronto Port Authority in his role as Data Centre Manager.
He continued this work with the Toronto Community Care and Access Centre until 2007.
Peter's legacy is in the progress he helped achieve and the love he gave to his family. His stories and memories will live on with us. To honour Peter’s life, we invite you to share your memories and stories. Let's remember him by living by the values he held dear.
