Stone MarilynSTONE, Marilyn Emily Stone -

July 13, 1932 - March 10, 2024

It is with deep sadness that the family announces the passing of Marilyn Emily Stone. She was a devoted and loving mother to Brett (Linda) and Karen.

She will be sadly missed by her grandchildren Tyler, Devon, Tara (Lucas), and Jamie; great-grandchildren Aidan, Beauden, and Morgan. She will be fondly remembered by her sister Joyce (Bob).

Marilyn was predeceased by her parents Ed and Emily Delves.

As a teenager and young adult, Marilyn enjoyed going to Kew Beach in Toronto. In her later years of life, she enjoyed cottaging in Wasaga and Muskoka.

Marilyn was an avid reader. She would love to immerse herself in her books and many times was able to finish a book within a day.

She would enjoy many trips to the library. Marilyn loved her family and family get togethers. She enjoyed all of her grandchildren and would spend many hours playing with them. Marilyn loved all animals.

Over the years she had all sorts of animals, such as dogs, cats, birds, rabbits and guinea pigs.

She loved feeding the feral cats that soon called her home. One time she was trying to feed a black and white cat however found out quickly that it was a skunk. Marilyn had a lengthy career as a Secretary for The Children’s Aid Society and made many friends along the way.

Prior to working for Children’s Aid, she fostered many children. For the last 11 years, Marilyn lived at Scarborough Retirement Residence. She very quickly called it home.

She often mentioned the wonderful staff that took such great care of her.

She was thankful on a daily basis to be there. She enjoyed spending time with Zoe and Zachary, the owner’s dogs who visited the retirement home often.

She loved feeding the squirrels that also called Scarborough Retirement home. Donations in Marilyn's name can be made to the Heart and Stroke Society or your favourite charity.
