CORNER James 'Jim'  - (Retired Whitby Firefighter)

Peacefully at Lakeridge Health Oshawa on Sunday, January 28, 2018 in his 88th year.

Jim, loving brother of Aileen (the late Jim French), Ken (Jean), Thelma (the late Merv Bemis) and the late Roma (the late Carmen Rogers).

Jim will be lovingly remembered by his nieces, nephews, family and friends.

Jim was a proud firefighter of Whitby and an active member in the community.

Family and friends will be received at MOUNT LAWN FUNERAL HOME & CEMETERY, 21 Garrard Road, Whitby (North of Hwy 2) 905-443-3376 on Friday, February 2nd from 2-4 & 7-9 pm and Saturday, February 3rd from 1:30 pm until the time of Service in the chapel at 2:30 pm.

Interment Mount Lawn Cemetery.

In memory of Jim, donations to a CHARITY of your choice would be appreciated.

Notes of condolence and memories may be shared at mountlawn.ca.

When I am called to Duty, God,
Whenever flames may rage,
Give me strength to save some life,
Whatever be its age.

Help me embrace a little child

Before it is too late,
Or save an older person
From the horror of that fate.

Enable me to be alert

And quickly and efficiently
To put the fire out.

I want to fill my calling,

And to give the best in me,
