GRAND, James (Jim) Grand -Passed away unexpectedly after a brief illness on June 29, 2024, leaving behind his beloved children Buffy Grand O'Driscoll (Tom) and Michael (Debbie, Alex), and his cherished grandchildren Tory, Taylor, Ryan and Ashley.

Jim will be deeply missed by his children, grandchildren, siblings (John, Rob, Richard, Rosemary, Martin), many nieces, nephews, cousins and countless friends. Jim was born and raised in Toronto, the eldest of a blended family of ten.

He attended UTS and the Ryerson School of Business, then started his long career at Grand & Toy, the company founded by his great-grandfather in 1882.

Giving back to his community was important to Jim, and his legacy also lives on through his creation of the Grand Family Nature Reserve, and his donation of land to Hardy Lake Provincial Park. Jim was "larger than life" and a man who valued his family and friendships above all else.

Thank you to the South Muskoka Memorial Hospital for their wonderful care, and especially to Dr. Joe Gleeson.

In memory of Jim, please consider donating to the South Muskoka Hospital Foundation. The family will receive friends at the Humphrey Funeral Home A.W. Miles – Newbigging Chapel Ltd., 1403 Bayview Ave. (south of Davisville) on Monday, July 8th from 5:00 - 8:00 p.m. A Celebration of Life will take place at Lawrence Park Community Church, 2180 Bayview Avenue, on Tuesday, July 9th at 1:00 p.m.
