ADAMS, George Edward – peacefully with family by his side at Lion’s Head Hospital early Friday, July 11, 2025. George Adams of Tobermory in his 88th year. Beloved husband of Grace Adams and the late Elizabeth ‘Betty’ Adams.

Cherished father of Kerry Adams (Shelley) and Lonnie Adams (Rosemary) and stepfather of Ron Rouse (Linda), John Rouse (Judy), and Pamela Hilliker (Shawn). Much loved grandfather of Jennifer (Che), Michael (Michelle), Jamie (Nathan), Michelle (Luke), Michael (Oddysey), Zach, Natalia, Ryan, Lorenda, Tristan, and Quinton, as well as many great-grandchildren. Missed by many nieces and nephews.

Predeceased by his parents Ettie (nee Hazen) and Robert Adams, and siblings Gordon, Cleveland, William, Ernest, Gerald, John, James, Joyce Ryan, Helen Johnston, and Carmen.

George had a distinguished marine career of 49 years. He was a Great Lakes Captain and a Welland Canal Ships Pilot. He was deeply involved in the Tobermory community, especially the Tobermory Medical Clinic, the Tobermory United Church, and the Thrift Shop.

The funeral service will be conducted from the Tobermory United Church on Wednesday at 2:00 pm with visitation 2 hours prior to the service. Interment at Dunk’s Bay Cemetery. Arrangements entrusted to the George Funeral Home, Lion’s Head Chapel. Expressions of remembrance to the Tobermory United Church or the Lion’s Head Hospital c/o Bruce Peninsula Hospitals Foundation would be appreciated.
