With great sorrow and heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Robert Gerard St. Amour, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend, who left us peacefully on July 8th.

Robert was a man who truly made friends wherever he went. Armed with a warm smile and an easygoing nature, he could strike up a conversation with anyone. He was a master of many trades—a true handyman who always had a solution for everything.

Having grown up on the lake, he held a lifelong love for fishing, a passion that became even more meaningful when he was casting a line alongside his grandson. Music was another constant thread in his life; from playing in a band during his youth to his deep love for live music, there was simply always music playing in the house.

Above all else, Robert loved his family. He was blessed with 50 wonderful years of marriage to his absolute soulmate, Susan, with whom he proudly raised their four sons. Together, they built a beautiful life grounded in love, laughter, and devotion. His greatest joy was found in his role as a family man; he treasured every moment spent with his grandkids, who affectionately called him “Pops” and “Grandpa.”

Robert’s legacy of love lives on through his devoted family and friends. He is survived by his father Aldeage, predeceased by his mother, Marilyn nee (Fortier).

He is also survived by His soulmate and wife of 50 years Susan. His four sons and their families Craig (Courtney), Ryan (Crystal), Jason (Stephanie), Jeffrey (pre deceased).

His cherished grandchildren, Regan, Karsyn, Gabrielle, Emerson and Seth.

Survived by his sisters, Ruth (Al), Mary (Ed), Anne (Mike).

He also leaves behind a wonderful community of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Thank you to the palliative care nursing team at the Espanola Regional Hospital. Special thanks to Erin Neufeld for all of her support. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations to be made to the Espanola Regional Hospital Foundation.

A private graveside service will be held at a later date.
