ANNE, Long Rose Anne

Born in St. Catharines on May 5, 1942, Rose-Anne was a daughter of the late John and Marie (nee Yungblut) Campbell.

She was predeceased by her beloved husband Lloyd Long in December 2004.

Rose-Anne was the much-loved mother of Bev (Leanne Almond-Long) Long, Peggy (Bob) MacLeod and Ivan (Heather) Long.

She was the loving grandmother of Andrew (Robin) Long, Aimee (Andrew) Hettrick, April (Brandon) Heggart, Jamie (Kimberley) Lewis, Jason (Rebecca) Lewis, Brandon Long and Curtis Long and great-grandmother to many great-grandchildren.

She was predeceased by her sister Diane Potentier and was the special aunt and mother figure to Diane’s children Dee Taonax and Blake (Shannon) Potentier.

Rose-Anne is remembered fondly by Lloyd’s family; Louise Long, Evelyn Long and Merv and Marg Long as well as many nieces and nephews.  Predeceased by brothers-in-law Bill Long and Carl Long.

Rose-Anne loved to travel, she had every detail arranged and organized, and as much as she loved travel, she always looked forward to getting home.  She created many beautiful knitted pieces, was an avid gardener and enjoyed tending to her gardens.  Rose-Anne’s cat ‘Lucky’ was very important to her and was a wonderful companion in later years.

Family will receive friends at the Ferguson Funeral Home in Meaford on Sunday, August 31, 2025 from 2 until 5 p.m.  A funeral service will be conducted at the Meaford United Church on Monday, September 1, 2025 at 11 o’clock with a reception following.  A private service of committal and interment will be conducted at the Walters Falls Cemetery.
